About Garner Piano Studio

Faith Garner is a passionate pianist and music educator based in her hometown of Newport, NC. A musician since childhood, she has always felt the most at home at the piano bench, whether performing in ensembles, practicing on her own, or sharing the joy of music with her students. She holds an Associate in Fine Arts (Music) from Coastal Carolina Community College as well as a B.S. in Education and a B.A. in Music (Piano/Choral Ed Focus) from Western Carolina University.

With more than 19 years of musical experience and over 6 years experience teaching piano, Faith is well-versed in guiding students of all ages. In her lessons and group classes, Faith strives to keep her students engaged by incorporating technical exercises, rhythm and note reading, fun activities, improvisation, and composition. She believes that piano lessons should not only foster a love for music and its community, but also teach important life-skills like perseverance, self-confidence, and patience. Some of her favorite composers/arrangers are Beethoven, Grieg, Jennifer Eklund, Mary Leaf, Kevin Nelson, Chopin and Burgmüller.
